Tooth Whitening for $89 for all patients

For a limited time we are offering our Take Home Tooth Whitening for $89 to all patients.  Most people can dramatically improve their smile by whitening their teeth.  It’s actually pretty amazing.

So why are we offering it for $89 when some dental offices offer it for Free if you become a new patient.

Well, I am going to be completely honest with you.  We want new patients that are making a commitment to their dental health, not just patients that are looking for something free.  (see below for your opportunity to make it “free” when you commit to your dental health)

We think $89 is a very competitive price for tooth whitening at a dental office.  Heck, buy a couple of over the counter products that may (or may not work) and your close to $89.  Have you priced Crest White strips lately?  And when you become a new patient at Grandview Dental Care we stand behind that it will work and help to set your expectations as to how well it work.

So, how can you get it for free?  On the day you complete your 3rd professional teeth cleaning which for most patients will be 18 months out, we will credit your account the $89 that you paid originally for your whitening.

This $89 to Free Whitening offer is only available to New Patients that schedule their New Patient appointment by 8/31/2009.  You will receive your take home whitening after you have completed your 1st professional cleaning appointment.  So call us at 614-486-7378 or make an appointment here!

Which Whitening Tooth Paste works the best?

None.  No matter what the marketing says, the so called whitening tooth pastes do not effectively whiten your teeth.

Why Not?  Because your teeth get whiter based on how long the whitening active ingredient stays on your teeth.  How long is the whitening toothpaste on your teeth before you rinse it off? Maybe 2 minutes and that isn’t long enough for any whitening ingredient to whiten your teeth.

Nowadays most toothpastes say they are whitening toothpastes but don’t think you teeth are going to get whiter using them.  Use them for the taste/flavor and the cavity fighting properties and speak to your dentist or hygienist for more consistent ideas for whitening your smile.

Would you whiten your teeth at Sam’s Club?

You may have seen the places at local malls and Sam’s Club where you can get whiter teeth but would you do it?  These places have been a point of controversy throughout the country and with everything there are 2 sides to the argument.

In Ohio only a trained and licensed dental professional can adminster whitening to a patient.  This means a dentist or a hygientist.  Mall Whitening gets around this by handing the whitening chemicals to the customers to do it themselves and you the customer/patient has even less experience with the handling of the chemicals…. so how safe is that?

We try very hard to price our whitening at a very competive rate because whitening can be the fastest, easiest, and least expensive way to dramatically enhancing your smile.  We offer Zoom in-office whitening for $395 and are currently offering Take Home Whitening for $89 through 3/31/2009.

Tooth Whitening – What works, what doesn’t, and why

Over-the-counter whiteners have been flooding the market for many years.  Each with it’s own gimmick, or gadget, or promise of sparkling white teeth in just minutes…..

How does tooth whitening work?

Teeth have been shown to whiten when exposed to a peroxide like solution.  How much teeth whiten depends on three things:

  1. The concentration of the peroxide in the whitening solution
  2. The time the whitening solution stays on the teeth
  3. The color of the teeth before the whitening started Read the rest of this entry »

What is the easiest, fastest, least expensive way to improve your smile?

Whitening.  As we get older our teeth become discolored from the foods we eat and drink, things we smoke and from years of being on display.  Look at your teeth in the mirror.  Are they yellow, grey, just plain dingy?  Whitening your teeth can make a huge difference in your smile and your overall appearance.

There are a lot of choices for whitening your teeth both at the dentist office and over the counter.  Which whitening product works the best?  There is also a lot of debate about that.

To keep it simple, your teeth get whitened based on the strength and type of solution used and by making sure it stays on your teeth.

Whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, gum, etc does not stay in contact with the teeth very long and doesn’t work.  Some people have a lot of success with the whitening strips staying on their teeth, so they can work for some people.

But keep the cost in mind with the over the counter whitening products.  The costs can add up because to get your teeth to the desired shade of white, you have to use a lot.  This is due to the strength of whitening solution in the whitening strips isn’t as high as what you can get at your dentist office, so you must use more applications.

Getting your teeth whitening at the dentist office offers several things that over the counter products can’t.

  1. We have whitened hundreds of patients teeth and know from experience which products work and which don’t.
  2. We can show you on a shade guide what color your teeth were when you started, and what color we anticipate them becoming.
  3. We have a relationship with our patient and we want them to be happy.  Not many people have that kind of relationship with Crest.
  4. If you suffer from tooth sensitivity because of whitening we can offer ideas on what can help.
  5. Our pricing is competive even with over the counter products.  Think about how much you spend on over the counter whitening products and compare yourself.
