Reward and show appreciation for those that help you succeed!

It’s something that we all know to do but sometimes we temporarily forget to show appreciation for those that we work with.  It’s always a boost to morale when someone recognizes you for a job well done.

On the eve of my annual ski trip to Steamboat Springs with my buddies I decided to have a little “treat yourself” economic stimulus of my own for my staff.  They always work hard but March was a very busy month and everyone was ready for me to be out of the office for a few days because everyone needed a much deserved break.

So… to show my appreciation I gave each staff member a $100 bill with the instructions to spend it on themselves by Monday 4/13.  Everybody needs to treat themselves every once in a while and sometimes my staff members have a tendency to take care of others first….

I want receipts and stories and if they successfully accomplish the mission I will give them another $50!

So far the excitement has been off the charts!  I will report back with details on Monday.

Just another reason why I love dentistry!

I have been out of the office for a few days this week attending my annual update on dental products, procedures, techniques, what’s hot and what’s not in dentistry.  It is presented by an independent research group made up of dentists, microbiologists, and other geeky scientist types. We all get ‘geeked out’ about things in life and this is one of mine.

I love dentistry because of all the new things that are happening in the field.  It makes my job that much more exciting when I can solve a problem for my patient with a better technique or material which is faster, more comfortable, better yet more economical for my patient! And… most of it is just plain cool.

It’s great when you get to learn something new everyday!

An End of the year note from Dr. Bill

As some of you may know, 2008 marks my 30th year as a dentist in Grandview.  After 30 years I can honestly say that I love what I do.  The advancements in dentistry continue to inspire and motivate me to learn and grow and become better and better at being a dentist.

Looking back over the years I am amazed by all the changes in dentistry that make a patient’s time in the chair shorter, more comfortable, and provides a stronger more reliable end result.  There are treatments today that are even invisible so no one knows you are straightening your smile!

With this note I want to thank my patients for helping making 2008 another great year!   We, at Grandview Dental Care, take pride in the quality of care that we provide for you and we strive to provide the very best in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry.  To do this requires continuous coursework in the newest dental procedures and dental materials as well as constantly updating our equipment and instruments.

If you have been in the office recently, you probably have noticed our conversion to digital x-rays instead of film.  This enables us to have your diagnostic information back immediately, with substantially less radiation to you and it helps the environment by not requiring chemicals and film for processing.

Besides the digital x-rays, we offer Invisalign orthodontics, a computer designed method of moving teeth with clear plastic forms that snap onto your teeth.  We are one of the three Premier Providers for Invisalign in the Columbus area due ti the experience we have with Invisalign.  Along with Invisalign, we offer Lumineers, veneers, crowns, bridges, bonding, and Zoom! whitening to make beautiful smiles.

In addition, I couldn’t do what I do without the support of my excellent staff, my family, and my patients.  It truly puts a spark in my day when a patient that has been with me since the early days is on the schedule or when any of my patients gives me a heartfelt “Thanks Doc!”  We all know that it makes a tough day that much more bearable when we are appreciated for what we do.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your overall health team.  We consider it an honor and a privilege for you to entrust your dental care to our team!

Sincerely,

Dr. Bill

What is it like to be a dentist for 30 years?

As some of you may know, 2008 marks my 30th year as a dentist in Grandview.  Yes, I realize by my youthful appearance in my staff photo that it’s hard to believe I’ve been practicing that long… but I started when I was 10….

All joking aside, I can honestly tell you that I love what I do! The advancements in dentistry continue to inspire and motivate me to learn and grow and become better and better at being a dentist.  Incredible technology such as CEREC Cad-Cam one appointment crowns enable us to provide beautiful crowns in about an hour and a half.  Digital X-rays give us instant, more reliable diagnostic information with less x-rays to the patient.  We offer I.V. sedation for our anxious patients so that can sleep through their appointments.  We have lumineers, invisalign, and whitening to make beautiful smiles.  And we use state of the art techniques and materials to provide the very best in dental care.

In addition, I couldn’t do what I do without the support of my excellent staff, my family, and my patients.  It truly puts a bright spot in my day when a patient that has been with me since the early days is on the schedule or when any one of my patients gives me a heartfelt “Thanks Doc!”  We all know that it makes a tough day that much more bearable when we are appreciated for what we do.

So, to mark this occasion and show appreciation for our patient family be sure to mark your calendars for our Celebration Event this Fall on October 4th.  We are planning a tailgate/cookout with activities for the whole family including balloon sculptures, face painting, and college football.  Make sure we have your email address so that we can keep you posted on the details and/or let us know what type of activities you would enjoy!  Thank you for being a part of our patient family!
